We are a one-stop shop for all leading varieties of both mainstream and organic vinegars. From white, apple cider, malt, wines, and balsamic vinegars to organic white and apple cider vinegar with the mother.
We can supply large volumes with our own fleet of tankers to smaller customers and quantities which use drums and totes. Our formats include returnables and non-returnable plastics and fibre.
We provide different bottle sizes and formats, in various plastics and glass. These options are custom designed for grocery, foodservice, and wholesale markets.
Our Daltons brand goes back to 1834 and we are proud to produce Canada’s leading varieties of maraschino cherries and glace fruits.
Whether producing and packing into our customer’s labels or our own century old brands of Allen’s Vinegar and Daltons, we pride ourselves in supplying the finest products at the most competitive costs.
We are conveniently located across Canada in Central Ontario, Central Quebec, and Vancouver. This enables us to take advantage of reduced freight costs, both domestically and with close access to Eastern US markets.
Our Ontario production facility is located in Stayner, Ontario, North of Toronto. This facility houses production for all of our product lines as well as a modern cidery. We have been a proud and committed member of Stayner since 1910.
Our Quebec production facility is located in Chambly, just South of Montreal. This facility has both vinegar production and warehousing facilities.
Our Western production facility is located in Vancouver, B.C.
Our Head Office is located in Toronto, Ontario. This location directs all areas of sales, marketing, finance, and administration.
Our own transportation fleet in Ontario and Quebec ensures flexibility and just-in-time support.
Our quality systems and accreditations include HACCP and ISO 22000, meeting the highest government and customer standards under the umbrella of our FSSC 22000 certification, Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
Our Stayner and Chambly plants are partners in the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program.

With new technology, white vinegar production quickly surpassed that of the apple juice. Other vinegars – cider, malt and wine soon followed.
1967 Transitions: Alvin Reinhart retired and the company was acquired by Robert Singer. With Robert Singer’s marketing skills, private label co-packing came on stream, broadening our exposure in the food industry.
1974 Maraschino Cherries: The maraschino cherry division was added, making Reinhart a major supplier to Canada’s retail and confectionery industry.
1979 Fire: A major fire destroyed 80% of the Stayner facility. Our new plant was opened in May of 1980, becoming the most modern vinegar plant in North America.
1979 Continued Growth: Our operation in Chambly, Quebec was opened, producing white vinegar to service our bulk customers in Quebec, Eastern Canada, and the Northeast United States. Later, a modern warehouse was added, as well as vinegar bottling and on-site blow molding.
1996 Daltons: Reinhart Foods acquired the assets and trademarks of Daltons (1834) line, becoming Canada’s leader in maraschino cherries and glace fruit.
2001 National Vinegar Expansion: Reinhart Foods acquired the assets and trademarks of Burns Philp in Canada, becoming a national producer and supplier of bottled vinegar.
2011 GFSI Certification: We received GFSI certification through FSSC 22000 to meet the latest global quality requirements.
2017 Cidery Expansion:
Going back to our roots, Reinhart opens its very own hard cidery in Stayner, Ontario.
2018 Allen’s Vinegar:
Becomes Canada’s #1 Vinegar Brand.
2021 Reinhart’s Strong Cider:
Becomes Ontario’s favourite craft cider.
